About Hit the Button Math
This is a free, independent website with quick-fire maths games for primary children. We built it to be fast, simple and safe to use at home or in class.
Who runs this site
Daniel Carter builds and maintains the site. He writes and updates the guides, links them to official sources, and tests the game in the browser before each release. He is not a classroom teacher, and he does not claim teaching qualifications.

How we write and check guides
- Curriculum and MTC facts are checked against the DfE national curriculum and ready-to-progress guidance, STA Multiplication Tables Check documents, NCETM Mastering Number pages and Education Endowment Foundation maths guidance. We link to those sources on the page.
- We do not invent statistics, pass marks or quotes. When official dates change (for example the June MTC window), we update the page.
- The game is tested in a desktop browser for scoring, Practice mode, MTC-style timing, keyboard entry and mobile layout before we publish.
- Curriculum details are for England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own curricula, though the maths facts are the same.
What we believe
- Short and often wins. A few minutes of daily practice builds recall better than long sessions.
- No barriers. No accounts, no downloads, no personal data from children.
- Accuracy matters. Results show accuracy as well as score, and Practice mode shows the correct answer after a miss.
